Leisure Audio – A New Affiliate Ideas That Works!

I recently became a member of Leisure Audio Books, and I want to share my humble opinion with you today.

This is like nothing I have ever experienced before, I was shocked to find that is totally unique, never seen before, and I believe it to be revolutionary, and I'll explain why.

In my past experience, you join a typical program, they give you some cheesy promo tools, and they never say a word to you, they just expect you to go out and recruit as best you can on your own...

This is totally and utterly different.

First of all, the products rock, there's a huge selection of topics on virtually any niche you can think of... all delivered in licenced .wma or Real format, so anyone with a computer, an iPod, or mp3 player can instantly enjoy these fine audio books, at their leisure...

Second, you don't have to recruit, to earn nice money, you can simply sell these real products to real people, and they will be glad to have them to listen to...

Third, the commissions you can earn, are much higher than normal, and I really like that.

Fourth, it's so easy to set up a website and dominate any niche you choose, because the training is so good, it makes it easy to get started right away.

Fifth, I don't have any of the order filling problems, of offering a real product, Leisure Audio Books, has it handled, for me. Lucky me;~)

With Leisure Audio Books, I feel at completely at ease offering anyone hi quality hi fidelity products and the diversity is astounding! They have over 6000 titles meticulously sorted into 160 categories in a feature- packed store.

I had no idea know that there are at least 50,000 identifiable niche markets that can be independently addressed in the search engines for audio books! I do know now and I am out there selling... and for the first time it is working!!!

Plus it's a huge relief to have the experts, Rod and Kevin helping me succeed, I almost feel like I have a huge "cheat" over everyone else, because I'm a part of a caring organization, who really coach, and really train, and really want me, and you, to succeed, no matter what the skill level.

So, I would have to sum it up like this, if you're tired of an endless line of hype, smoke and mirrors, and you'd like to gain traction, start making a financial difference in your family's lifestyle, and have a legitimate, honest, real way to make money online...you owe it to yourself to check out Leisure Audio Books.

Don't believe me, I'm a happy member, and of course I'm biased, so do a check on Rod and Kevin, and I'm sure you'll find the truth is that they are for real, and these are great products that virtually sell themselves.

I recommend that you see for yourself - GO RIGHT NOW, and take in the information presented on the website.

The Contributions of Effective Leadership in the Provision of Leisure Programs and Services

Introduction

If you were to ask an expert to list the elements that are crucial for the provision of successful programs and services, effective leadership would typically rank very highly. For providers of leisure, a predominantly service-orientated field typically delivered through program structures, the contribution leadership makes is crucial. This is especially pertinent for those involved in the commercial provision of leisure - many of whom are operating in a dynamic and inherently unstable sector that presents not only considerable opportunities, but also, tremendous risks. In light of this, it is worthwhile to explore the specific contributions leadership makes to the provision of leisure programs and services.

A Closer Look at Leadership in Leisure Provision

The value of leadership is often acknowledged or alluded to. It remains however, an often observed but seldom understood phenomenon. In the leisure sector, the value of sound leadership is often remarked upon, but seldom analyzed in any real depth. This typical lack of understanding and insight can be directly related to the fact that there are as many theories on leadership as there are leaders. There are literally hundreds of books on the subject, thousands of articles, and an endless tide of opinion which suggests that understanding the concept of leadership is no easy task.

To begin with a broad definition, leadership can be conceptualized as an influence-based relationship wherein a leader attempts to influence, motivate and direct followers toward the achievement of objectives and goals. Sometimes these aims are mutually beneficial, sometimes they are not. Some followers willingly submit to being led, some followers are in a constant state of negotiation regarding their role, and still others resist being led, but comply due to coercion.

In the past, leadership in leisure provision had largely been the domain of amateur volunteers, with the small number of professional practitioners holding little in the way of formal training or qualifications. In recent decades, with the ever-increasing regulation of the leisure industry and the skyrocketing market value of the sector, commercial leisure providers are typically bound by complex regulations and required to be registered professionals with appropriate qualifications, permits, licenses and the like. Volunteers still hold many leadership roles in leisure provision, but tend to either have some form of training, or at the very least, enjoy a greater level of access to training and support facilitated through governmental and community agencies.

Leadership in leisure provision has now become so specialized it has spawned its own industry. Specific courses, qualifications and resources for leadership training in leisure are now offered by a plethora of educational institutes. This fact certainly acknowledges the perceived importance of leadership in the modern context, not to mention a clear desire to improve and enhance the leadership capabilities of leisure providers, and of course, capitalize in doing so.

The implication is that effective leadership, the exact nature of which is open to debate, has the potential to yield superior outcomes for those involved in the provision of leisure programs and services. It is not enough however, to simply rest the case upon this very general assertion. Let us now examine some specifics.

Effective Leadership Provides Direction

One of the major contributions of effective leadership is a sense of direction and, by proxy of this direction, a focus for action. While this sense of direction generally serves the best interests of the leader’s organization, their followers and their goals, this is not always the case. It must be noted that leaders tend to bring with them an agenda, one that may potentially contravene the interests of their followers and/or the organization and/or the public at large. This concern aside, two factors play into the establishment of direction.

Establishing direction requires a clear vision for the future and the development of strategies to achieve it. This vision should be both focused and feasible, with environmental awareness, or being ‘tuned-in’ to what is going on around you, crucial in finding an appropriate balance between idealism and the constraints of the ‘real world’. A sense of direction is important because it serves to define and maintain the focus for follower’s efforts. Furthermore, when times get tough, the direction provided by a leader can lend stability to matters, aiding dispirited followers in regrouping and renewing their efforts.

Effective Leadership Inspires

A further contribution of effective leadership is that it motivates and inspires followers to negotiate constraints and overcome barriers. Because of this potential, many theories of leadership (charismatic and transformational for example) revolve around the notion that leaders can move mountains by jump-starting their followers and encouraging them to transcend their own self-interests and limitations. The general consensus is that inspirational leaders possess quality communication skills, consistently high levels of energy/enthusiasm and a problem-solving orientation.

Communication skills are vital to anyone in a position of leadership, the outcomes of which are heavily dependant upon an individual’s ability to be an active listener, and consistently clear, concise and considered in both speaking and writing. Also, if a leader lacks enthusiasm and energy, this condition will eventually transmit to his/her followers, making it especially difficult to motivate them. Finally, operating from a problem-solving orientation is crucial because it means that one is naturally inclined towards, and more likely to be skilled and/or experienced in, negotiating or overcoming complications.

Effective Leadership Sets an Example

Finally, effective leaders are good role models. They contribute towards quality outcomes by setting the bar for everyone. As the living embodiment of competent and caring professionalism, the leader who practices what they preach is demonstrating exactly what they expect from their followers. Furthermore, since leaders are also figureheads, they are typically evaluated or judged more often than anyone else. It is crucial therefore, that a leader always strives to set a good example and project a positive image, not just to their followers but also the public at large.

The effective leader also sets an example by blazing the trail. Indeed, just as leaders often receive enormous praise in victory, they typically receive the greatest proportion of the blame in defeat. If we wish to be successful then, we must actively pursue success, and this can be easier said than done. Leadership carries with it not only great prestige and reward, but the very real potential of failure, embarrassment, criticism and conflict. If a leader is not willing to actually lead, and stand tall in the face of such dangers, followers are unlikely to leave the starting blocks either.

Conclusion

Sport and leisure providers operate in a dynamic and highly competitive domain that carries significant elements of risk. While leadership is a concept which is often witnessed and discussed, the specific contributions it makes seldom come into focus. This essay has discussed leadership in the sport and leisure context, with a particular focus on what it contributes to the provision of successful, quality leisure services and programs. In summary, effective leadership aids in enhancing provision outcomes by: setting direction, which is crucial for defining a focus for action; inspiring followers to transcend their self-interest and overcome barriers; and setting an example, through embodying all the qualities a leader expects from followers and championing the cause.

Productivity, a Loss of Leisure, the Dream of Passive Income and the Development of Online Affiliate

Juliet Schor, a Harvard University Professor, offers readers an insightful analysis into the declining time that Americans have for leisure. Her literary contribution, The Overworked American: The Unexpected Decline of Leisure (1991) analyzes the plight of the productive American who has—knowingly or unknowingly--traded much of his leisure time for a zeitgeist (and the reality) of teeming production.1

Does time really equal money?

The idea that an increase in productivity determines a decrease in leisure time and vice versa seems to have evolved into a depressing mantra for many Americans. “Time equals money,” they say and that is that. However, society can always count on the opposing opinion,2 or in this case the less-accepting Americans who count themselves lucky to be part of an age when passive income is the economic day-dream and desire of the century. Sure, it might not be realistic to leisurely dream the day away, but passive income (an income that is generated without a 1:1 ratio of work to time) is real and available. A new source of passive income has arrived however for today's online ecommerce centers and is apparently becoming popular for many Americans who are pursuing the passive income solution via affiliate marketing.

Types of Passive Income and it's Newest Member Affiliate Marketing

The older “typical” forms of passive income can include sales commissions, media entertainment (books, CDs, music) that engenders royalties, stock photography sales, big business endeavors (when an apartment owner leaves work to his or her manager), and return business from continually satisfied customers. Most passive income requires some sort of networking and the newest member of the passive income group, affiliate marketing, is no different. Affiliate marketing, like other types of passive income, requires investment before gain. An ambitious affiliate marketing venturer will need a Web presence that will allow him or her to get enough visitors who are qualified to purchase products displayed for the affiliate marketing program's parent store. If he or she wants to manage a complete affiliate marketing program, then his or her site will need to attract visitors and maintain a fair and equitable affiliate marketing program that will attract potential affiliates.

Passive Income, Productivity and Increased Leisure Time

The reality of passive income potential3 belies the idea that time equals money and makes one contemplate the future ratio of productivity to time. Will an American's leisure time eventually surpass that of his or her work? Will it owe a debt to affiliate marketing?

1 http://users.ipfw.edu/ruflethe/american.html

2 Juliet Schor doesn't seem to agree with the time equals money principle. She states, “The decline in Americans' leisure time is in sharp contrast to the potential provided by the growth of productivity. Productivity measures the goods and services that result from each hour worked. When productivity rises, a worker can either produce the current output in less time, or remain at work the same number of hours and produce more. Every time productivity increases, we are presented with the possibility of either more free time or more money. That's the productivity dividend.”

3 The idea of more leisure time via passive income is an attractive one. Ryan McMaken, though not referring to passive income in particular says that, “...in future, it's not too difficult to imagine a time when leisure hours might actually outnumber work hours. It's not unreasonable to think that productivity could rise to a level where we might enjoy a 3.5 day work week.”

Advantages Of An Air Charter For Business and Leisure

On the face of it, air charter seems to be a luxury that high-flying corporate executives get as perks of the job. But look at it a little deeper, and turns out it's actually a money-saver. The thing is that a top level executive's time is very valuable, and each minute spent in an airport lounge is a lost minute for the company.

With each day and month, the situation at the airports is getting worse. Flight delays, airport security, missed connections and the exhausting experience of boarding a commercial flight all combine to wring the enthusiasm out of business travelers. An executive who turns up at an important meeting after such an experience can hardly be expected to be very effective.

The point here is that all that time spent is company time being wasted. So it's safe to assume that it's profitable for a company to allow the cream of its top level executives to hop around in private jets. But this doesn't mean the company has to shell out big dollars to buy planes.

One of the more popular arrangements is called a fractional ownership system, where a person or company is one of many owners of the plane (usually between 2 to 8). The whole thing is managed by a fractional ownership company, which will have many planes of the same make and model. So when a company wants to use a plane, it just has to pay for the flight costs, including the fuel.

Other than the cost-savings of shared ownership, there are many more benefits. For example, passengers on commercial carriers can only fly to and from a limited number of big airports. An air charter, however, can fly to thousands of big and small airports, many of which are private.

This further reduces local transportation needs, and the time spent traveling. Plus, there are no delays for boarding or exiting. It is possible to drive right up to the plane and have the baggage loaded up right then and there. Pets, if any, can travel in the cabin.

Executives can travel in absolute comfort and get some good sleep. Or they can put in a few hours' work with a laptop, wi-fi internet, videoconferencing, satellite phones and other tools. Some commercial carriers do offer some of these tools, but they cannot be used on account of a lack of privacy.

For personal use, it's hard to justify air charter as a cost-saver, but there are situations where it can be a life-saver instead. Medical travel, for instance, is one such area where the patient might not want to ensure the agony of commercial flights. Elderly people and tourists unsure of being able to catch connecting flights may want to make their holiday experience more memorable and safe by taking a private jet instead.

It's important to note here that prices for an air charter are not that high anymore, and it's a lot closer to what's considered acceptable spending while on vacation, similar to staying in a luxury hotel. Before booking a commercial flight ticket, just find out how much it would just for the same trip on a private jet. Most people are likely to end up surprised at how much cheaper it is than they thought it would be.

Physical Health

Consider joining a gym, getting on a regular exercise program, taking up a sport, taking dance lessons, and/or learning yoga or tai chi. Leisure years can be filled with aliveness if you take excellent care of your health.

Do some research on nutrition and learn how to create healthy meals. There are many excellent books on achieving a high level of health, even in your later years. You might have years to live so you might as well learn how to live them in a vital and healthy way!

Emotional and Spiritual Growth

If you had not given much attention to your emotional and spiritual health - to the journey of your soul - now is a good time to do it. Now you have the time to read the excellent and inspiring books on achieving inner peace and joy. You have the time to attend lectures, workshop and seminars on healing the beliefs that may be limiting you, on connecting with your personal spiritual Guidance, and on taking loving care of yourself and sharing your love with others.

If you have never been introspective and taken the time to get to know your self on the inner level, now is a great time!

Giving to Others

The most fulfilled people in life are those who find ways of giving to others and to the planet. If you have had to work hard all your life, you might not have had the time to volunteer or find other ways of helping. Now you have the time to explore what ways of giving really bring you joy. Would you enjoy volunteering at a day care center, sharing your love with little ones? Would you enjoy becoming part of a peer counseling group, supporting others in being all they can be? Would you receive satisfaction from becoming involved with groups that are helping the environment, helping the homeless, helping battered women and battered families, or helping abused children? Perhaps you would love to be involved with supporting the arts?

There are many fulfilling ways of giving and now you have an opportunity to discover which ways bring you joy.

Creativity

Being involved in creative activities is one of the most fulfilling ways of spending time. What have you always wanted to learn to do? Do you want to learn to draw, paint, or make ceramic pots? Do you want to learn to work in wood, carving or making furniture? Have you always wanted to try your hand at writing, perhaps writing poetry, a novel, or a screenplay? Do you want to become an excellent chef? Maybe you want to learn more about interior design and home decorating? Perhaps you want to create a beautiful garden or learn about flower arranging? Have you always wanted to learn more about jewelry making, weaving, needlepoint, sewing or knitting?

Now is a great time to discover what creative activities being you inner peace and joy.

Play

You might find that your physical activities - golf, bowling, and so on are the ways you play. Or your creative activities may be the ways you play. You might also want to find other ways to play, such as playing board games, card games, or doing puzzles. You might enjoy computer games or the many games that are available through TV.

Travelling to Canada - Visitor's Visas

Traveling to Canada from overseas? Generally Americans traveling to Canada have a fairly easy time to cross the border, as long as they have the necessary documentation and all is in order. However for those gravelling from afar it may be a somewhat more complex and rigorous process. All in all it's a matter of proper preparation and documentation. That is of course the travelers and tourists are prudent in satisfying the current equipments of documentation and process.

Nothing takes the requirements for full and thorough reading of the necessary forms. If you are unsure of words or what they mean or translate to - have someone else read the papers as well. If you are still unsure take the forms to your experienced travel agents and / or make an appointment to visit your lawyer or legal agent.

Along with this you need what are termed authorized "leave of absence" letters. These are in essence a letter from your employer stating your title or position, salary, length of time if employ with the firm or organization and of course the authorized time period of length of leave (either with or without pay). Be sure that dates on the letter correspond with the length of time and duration that you are requesting to stay in the country of Canada.

Along with these tour documents provide and disclose any precious such applications and attempts to visit Canada. It does not matter even if your application was made 10 years ago. If you do not automatically disclose such information you may well considered being in a situation of non-disclosure to the border and immigration officials and you may well find that you may be denied entry into the country.

How much money should you state that you have available? It can be travel feast and famine. You may well have saved for your excursion and have a healthy amount of cash and funding available. Be honest both with your access to funds and the amount of travel cash that you have on hand and at your disposal. Honesty and documentation of source of funds is always the best policy.

If you do have relatives and friends in the Dominion of Canada this can be an asset in your travel submissions. You can obtain and complete an "Affidavit of Support" via friends and family. This provides proof to immigration , travel and counselor staff , especially if you are staying over an extended time period , first of all providing a valid and recognized introduction and secondly providing reassurance and verification of financial support and stability if need be. Again your travel agency firm or your legal representatives can be of assistance in these matters. Along with this provision an actual or planned itinerary of your travels or planned excursions can be most helpful and supportive to embassy staff as well.

In regards to any of these matters it is always best to plan ahead. Do not leave any of the steps or procedures until the last minute. Unplanned hitches and flies in the ointment are guaranteed to occur. On top of that these snowball, resulting in delays, more frustrations and more frustrations, problems and even travel and tour conflicts. If payment is needed pay promptly with proper and valid documents and financial instruments nothing can be less helpful and impressive than a check, money order or draft drawn up wrong or improperly. Lastly any appointments that are made must be kept and attended to, prudently and on time. If something comes up and you will not be able to attend or be late always phone ahead, explain, rebook the appointment and explain properly the issue. Of course this should only occur on a one time basis and not be repeated.

All in all prepare. Fill out the forms properly, well ahead of time. Pay and fees, attend any necessary meetings. Be on time. Lastly always be truthful.

Enjoy your travel vacation trip or extended long stay visit to Canada.

Winnipeg's Folklorama festival of nations hosts over world wide pavilions from cultures across the globe. 01 Aug 2009 - 31 Aug 2009 across the city of Wpg, Manitoba Folklorama Travel offers top attractions year-round that will make your visit memorable, and as a receptive operator we'll take care of all the details leaving you with the time to enjoy your trip from start to finish. Wood Turning - Yesterday's Hobby Today

Wood working in general is becoming one of the fastest growing hobbies in the world and wood turning one of the fastest growing types of wood working. This is of course in keeping with the growth of leisure time in industrialized countries along with the need to fill that leisure time. As people become less satisfied with pursuits such as watching television and seek productive work with their hands, wood turning has for many become the activity of choice.

Historically, folks are in good company. While wood turning was the trade for many craftspeople, for the rich it became a fascinating hobby. Even the royalty of England, France and Germany enjoyed playing with elaborate and decorative lathes.

The lathe may be viewed first of all as a tool for making a great many practical products. Many of the parts of the popular Windsor style chair are made on a lathe, the legs, rungs and back spokes for most Windors, and the arms for some. Wood turners of the past would have made most of the implements for the common folk such as bowls, spoons, tool handles, candle sticks, and the like. The name Turner is found in many of our phone books in great number simply because every town needed a wood turner.

At the same time the rich may have dined on fine pottery and pewter while their servants used wood, but they also found time to play with the lathe. Often powered by a servant turning a great wheel they would make decorative and elaborate boxes and candle sticks among other objects more artistic than practical. Lathes became capable of not only turning an object but also decorating it with symmetrical cuts and patterns. The increased world commerce of the fifteenth century and onward made ivory and exotic woods with gorgeous colors available to the wealthy for even more elaborate turning.

In comparison with past history, the industrialized world of today is a rich world. People no longer have to work from dawn to dusk in order to survive. Many formerly costly products are readily available for low prices. The wood turner is no longer needed to produce common bowls and cups. Instead, the hobby turner of today as well as most professional turners, have become artistic turners producing works of aesthetic value from beautiful timbers of the world.

In a very real sense the lathe is a potter’s wheel turned on its side and is capable of making bowls, vases and other objects with great artistry. A block of wood is mounted and the wood turner is able to remove large quantities or small shavings of material to create what is seen in the mind’s eye. Restrained only by the need for things to be round, the possibilities are limitless as he or she draws in three dimensions. The day of the wood turner as artist has come once again.
